Scarlet Fever

About- Scarlet fever also known as scarlatina is a bacterial illness characterized by a bright red rash that covers most of the body mostly affects people who have strep throat.

Symptoms-
 Chills
 Fever 
 Flushed face
 Headaches
 Nausea and vomiting
 Pale skin around the lips
 Red lines or streaks around the armpits, elbows, neck, and knees
 The red rash looks like a sunburn and feels like sandpaper mostly appears on the face or neck and spreads to the trunk, arms, and legs
 Sore throat
 Strawberry tongue (white tongue with red dots on the surface)  
 Swollen glands in the back of the neck
 Tonsilitis

Causes-
Scarlet fever is caused by group a Streptococcus bacteria, the same type of bacteria that cause strep throat and live in the mouth and nasal passages. These bacteria produce a toxin, or poison, that causes a bright red rash on the body.
