About- Scleritis is the inflammation and redness of the sclera, the white outer layer of the eyeball
Symptoms-
 Severe eye pain and irritation
 Pain during eye movements
 Pain may radiate throughout the entire face
 Headaches
 Redness of the sclera
 Excessive tearing
 Poor vision
 Blurry vision
 Double vision
 Sensitivity to light (photophobia)

Causes-
Immune system’s T cells cause scleritis
Risk Factors
 Damaged eye tissues due to an accident
 Eye infections
 Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) like Crohn's disease or Ulcerative colitis
 Lupus
 Rheumatoid arthritis
 Sjogren’s syndrome
 Wegener’s disease (Wegener’s granulomatosis)
 Women are more prone to this disease than men
